Unicode Support
in Integrated Library Systems

Presented by Ari Palttala
Vice President, Marketing, Sales & Customer Service, VTLS Inc.

This presentation will cover an overview of the principles of Unicode support within a library automation system. Mr. Palttala's talk will begin with a study of what's involved in character support. He will review the Unicode standard and its own support and implementation issues, but the presentation will not become too technical. The discussion will focus on the viewing capabilities enabled with Unicode support within a library system and what customers can expect from vendors who support Unicode in their library systems.
