Introduction
This international conference, which carries the overall theme of Realising the Digital Library, will include speakers from the United States and the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia and Europe. Please note that the conference language will be English.
A draft programme is available.
In addition to keynote addresses, the programme will be divided into four main areas,
and three parallel sessions to include:-
- The dynamics of the information market
- Copyright/Intellectual Property Rights - an international update
- Lifelong learning in the context of the digital library
- Digital library plans for European national libraries: the example of Britain, Germany and The Netherlands,
- Digital library coalition;;
EU projects and the eLib programme;
the digital library in Japan- Quality management of internet resources;
report on information fatique;
the information profession and information professionals- CNI project Assessment of network services and systems;
evaluation of eLib programme;
Metadata - policy level issues for implementation
