4TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE
K-12 SCHOOL NETWORKING: LEARNING FOR ALL IN THE DIGITAL AGE

FEBRUARY 24-26, 1999
RENAISSANCE HOTEL, WASHINGTON, DC

The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) will be holding its fourth
annual conference K-12 School Networking: Learning for All in the
Digital Age, February 24-26, 1999. We are soliciting speakers for this
important national conference on how the Internet and the emerging
information infrastructure can be used to improve learning in the K-12
classroom.

The topics of the 1999 K-12 School Networking conference will be:

* Connecting all classrooms: The E-Rate and other efforts
* Emerging network technologies
* Integrating online learning
* New opportunities for professional development

We are soliciting ideas for breakout sessions that develop these
themes. Breakout sessions are 1-hour and 15 minutes long on
Thursday, February 25 and Friday, February 26, 1999.

CoSN reserves the right to reorganize presentations and combine similar
presentations into panel discussions.

Please submit the following application via e-mail to

copy with one-page abstract BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 1998 to:

or PowerPoint format, and mail a hard copy of the abstract with this

If accepted, the abstract will be printed in the program and placed
on the CoSN website <http://www.cosn.org/>.

7. Attach a one paragraph narrative bio of each speaker and any
important supplementary materials regarding the presentation.

8. Audio Visual Needs:

Meeting rooms will be set theater style and equipped with a 5' x 5'
tripod screen, a podium and microphones.
 
Equipment other than listed above must be provided by speakers.

9. Handouts: Speakers are responsible for bringing handouts for
session participants. One copy must be provided to CoSN three weeks
before the conference.

10. Conference Registration: Primary speakers are entitled to a 50%
discount on the conference registration fee. Co-speakers must register
and pay full conference fee. A conference registration form will be
provided.

11. Travel Expenses: All speakers are responsible for their own travel
expenses.

12. Speaker Release: In submitting this application speakers agree,
if accepted, to give CoSN permission to reproduce all material
submitted. In addition, speakers give CoSN permission to tape record
and distribute the tape recording of the presentation. Speakers agree
to waive all claims to any royalties in conjunction with sales of
the tapes.

(This does not in any way limit speakers' rights to have the materials
published or presented in other forms.)
