I'll gather all of your comments about the E-Mail for All effort and
prepare a response next week. I am heading off to a conference
today, but before I go I'll send out an announcement about the EMFA
web site and where you can read the full article. (I'll also include
the excellent Benton summary again.)

The current public outreach effort is focused on promoting a national
dialogue. Markle has funded quite a bit of research in the area of
"universal access" going back to the 1995 report from RAND on
Universal E-mail. So in a sense the current public outreach efforts
are leveraging those past investments. In May we are planning an
online event where all of you will be invited to share your comments
on themes related to universal access and use of e-mail and the
Internet.

Sincerely,

Steven Clift
Consultant to the International Advisory Group for the Markle
Foundation's E-mail for All outreach effort
