CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
3rd Annual
Friends of the National Library of Medicine Seek Speakers
for HII'98: The Emerging Health Information Infrastructure
April 27-29, 1998
Georgetown University Conference Center
Washington, D.C.
You are invited to submit a proposal for presentation at HII'98,
the preeminent policy conference on health and the Information
Superhighway.
HII'98 is a senior level national conference formed by the Friends
of the National Library of Medicine to examine the opportunities
and pitfalls of leveraging the emerging national information
infrastructure to improve health. We expect 700-800 attendees,
including senior representatives of the library and informatics
communities, academic health sciences, key Members of Congress and
the Administration, leaders in the private sector and others
committed to utilizing the tools of the 21st century for health.
Most breakout sessions are 1hour and 15 minutes long. The Friends
of the NLM reserve the right to reorganize presentations and
combine similar presentations into panel discussions.
Presentations are organized around the following conference themes:
* Telemedicine/Telehealth
* Privacy/Security
* Health Data Integration
* Networked Consumer Health Information
We are soliciting ideas for breakout sessions, as well as plenary
presentations that develop these themes.
If you are interested in speaking at the HII98, please submit the

regarding your presenations.
Speakers at the conference are eligible for complimentary registration
to attend the entire conference. In most instances, speaker travel
support is not possible given the limited resources of the Friends of
the NLM.
