Subject: Update: TIIAP Rescissions


As of late morning, April 5:

In a compromise expected to be accepted by House conferees today, the
House-Senate conference committee considering H.R. 889, a supplemental
appropriations bill for the Department of Defense, is expected to 
restore $19 millon of the proposed $34 million recission to the TIIAP 
grant program.  That would leave $49 million for the program in 1995 
in this package of cuts.  However, additional cuts may come from the 
domestic rescissions bill (H.R. 1158), which currently would take $30 
million from TIIAP.  That measure is now being debated on the floor of 
the Senate.

as well as Senate action on the domestic rescissions package.
