Clarification
This is a clarification of our press release issued July 15, 1998 entitled
"FME(r) Used in OGIS Server."
GeoTask Server is not presently OpenGIS conformat since this term
describes a product that has passed conformance testing and the test
suites of the OpenGIS Consortium are not yet available. As outlined by
representatives of the OpenGIS Consortium using "OGIS" in a name does
not imply that the product is "OpenGIS Conformant,"
Also the press release referred to GEOTask as "following the OpenGIS
Simple Features Specifications." Only after passing conformance testing
can a product claim to follow the Open GIS Simple Features Specification
and Geotask has not passed such testing since the tests are not available
at this time.
We apologize for any confusion generated by our press release.
