I am preparing an article on GILS for D-Lib, the online magazine for 
the U.S. Digital Libraries initiative. In that article, I would like 
to note some of the various GILS-related initiatives underway worldwide 
and pointers to software. Unfortunately, my recall is very spotty in 
these areas and I desperately need help! 

I do apologize to anyone who may feel slighted by my omissions and
misrepresentations in the initial rough draft below. Please do let me 
know of any additional software or initiatives that should be included 
as well as any corrections or other modifications that should be made. 
(I am particularly concerned about how to represent Z39.50 servers and 
gateways--I have been told that GILS-compliance is a fairly trivial 
matter for servers that already support Z39.50v2 and GRS-1.)
