The Canadian GILS Subgroup will be conducting a GILS pilot project
with a number of government departments. The project's overall
objective is to illustrate the need for and benefit of using metadata
when searching for government information. The project will also
evaluate and assess the use of the GILS record creation tool (Web
form) and GILS record repository and search facility developed by the
Government Telecommunications and Informatics Services of the federal
government. We have completed the pilot project plan and are now in
the process of drafting the evaluation questionaire(s) for record
creators and end users.
Has any one else conducted a study or evaluation of any aspect of
GILS, e.g. benefits, search satisfaction, statistics on how long it
takes to create a GILS record using a Web form or ANY other mechanism,
success in integrating GILS within departmental procedures, etc., etc?
If you have any reports, written documentation, questionnaires, etc., I
would very much like to hear from you.
Thanks,
Fay
