Actually, we're currently doing both in GNN (Global Network Navigator).
Our weekly feature in GNN NetNews is sponsored by Microplex Systems, Ltd.
Their logo is at the top of the story, and linked to a document describing
their services. From there, you can link to their server in British
Columbia. We've kept the logo image small so as not to annoy our users
(for users of text browsers, it's a single line of text). We've received
no major complains in the 6 months or so that we've been doing these
sponsorship icons.
