The original charge of the CNI-BIGIDEAS Forum:

The election of the Clinton/Gore ticket in November, 1992 ensures that very high-level and sustained attention will be paid to networks and networked information. Project Big Ideas is the Coalition's immediate response to this development. This forum has been created to continue discussions begun in the Working Groups during the Coalition's 1992 Fall Task Force meeting (November 19-20, 1992 -- Landsdowne, VA), and to provide persons who were unable to attend this meeting an opportunity to share their ideas. Three categories of ideas for network development are sought:

--ideas which do not require money, but which require Administrative (i.e. Executive Branch) support,

--ideas which would cost on the order of $10 million, and

--ideas which would cost much more than $10 million.

All opinions and points of view are valued on this forum. This forum is open to the entire networking community. All subscribers are encouraged to read the Project Big Ideas introductory document which was originally released during the Fall 1992 meeting of the Coalition Task Force.
