If any of the documents you are scanning were created on a
computer like in Word WordPerfect, etc you can use a program that comes
with Adobe Acrobat called the PDFWriter. By using PDFWriter you can
reduce the size of a PDF file greatly. An example I just did was with a
WORD document. I printed up a copy and scanned it in creating a PDF
file and it came to a size of 40.7 KB. Then with the same document I
used PDFWriter and the size of the PDF file was 5.28KB plus, it was much
clearer. I hope this helps.
