The guidelines are old but nothing has changed with regard to paper
reserves since 1982. No court cases. No new guidelines. I have heard
nothing about revising them. Given the problems with CONFU and electronic
reserve guidelines, I'm not sure why anyone would want to tackle paper
again! In _Libraries and Copyright: A Guide to Copyright Law in the
1990s_ (Special Libraries Association, 1994), Laura N. Gasaway and Sarah
K. Wiant write, alluding to the 1982 "Model Policy," "No library has been
sued over its reserve collections nor have there been other
interpretations from the ALA, the Copyright Office or others" (p. 149).
