My very general definition is based on the term e-"reserves". That's
why I didn't mention academics, course readings, multimedia, and
other related materials specifically. I think it will be very tough
to place all materials under the cap of one "whole" definition due to
the laws that treats these materials so individually. There may be
a need for several definitions - but that's just my opinion.
